Introducing Something New

What is a second act, and what can it mean for you?

We’re seeing some clear structural changes in our society. Populations are ageing, and birth rates are declining. There’s increasing pressure for people to stay in the workforce longer, yet ageism remains a reality.

The result is that many people find themselves operating outside traditional corporate structures earlier than expected.

That raises the question of what to build next.

The Podcast is an extension of that conversation.

Hosted by Pippa Woodhead, it brings together longer-form discussions with people who are either in this phase or have already navigated it, such as founders, executives, investors, and advisors.

The aim is straightforward: to make what is often a private transition more visible, and in doing so, more normalised.

Across the series, we explore themes such as reinvention, identity, longevity, and contribution, alongside the more practical realities of financial resilience, health, and staying relevant over time.

If you step out in your 50s, you may still have 20 or 30 years ahead of you. So, how do you use that time with intent?

We’ve brought together a strong and varied lineup, including New York Times bestselling authors, a former Fortune 500 CEO, a former Hollywood producer, and experienced operators across business and finance, all speaking candidly about their own second acts.

These conversations are all grounded in lived experience, and we are so excited to share them with you.

In the first episode, which serves as an introduction to the whole series, you’ll be hearing from Naveen Bhat, the Founder of 25yearsmore, and myself, the Founder of The Experience Exchange. We’ll be speaking on why experience still matters.

It will be released on 14 April, with new episodes every two weeks thereafter.

Tune in and find out!
